Biography
TYPHON is originally a solo project launched in 2013 by John Silvestre, guitarist, drummer, filmscore composer, members of many projects exploring from
pop-rock to noise and industrial music. Initially based on electric guitars sampled in a looper, sometimes accompanying himself on drums, Typhon in 2020 becomes a group with post-rock and indie inspirations.

After 3 room albums composed and recorded in Brussels between 2013 and 2015, Typhon recorded his first studio EP, Pine Cone Songs, co-produced with
Paul Alkhallaf and released in 2017.
​
His last LP, AVANT L'AURORE, recorded in 2020 and released in 2021, was the opportunity for Typhon to be joined by four new members, Gabriel Goumaz (drums), Simon Genoud (guitar, bass, vocals), Luca Manco (guitar, bass) and Cleopatre (vocals, percussion), diving into a more orchestral dimension.

Singular and captivating, the band's universe explores many influences ranging from experimental to folk, from film music to noise ... Offering an experience of both punk intensity and poetic introspection.
​
The group is currently based in Vevey, Switzerland.
